This story happened at a unnamed Iron ore site in 2012.
We were loading iron ore into a train and it was about the 4th time we had done it at this new site.
As they were moving the next 4 wagons onto the weigh bridge to be filled, the loader driver noticed that the door on the underneath of the wagon had opened, iron ore was spilling and the train was starting to come off the tracks.
He called the train driver to stop but one of the big bosses from the city who had made a field trip to see the new loading setup grabbed a UHF radio and told the loco driver to keep going so that he could see better and "everything was fine".
The loader driver called out again for him to stop, but the big boss told the train driver to keep on going, resulting in a few wagons being derailed.
No one was injured and the damage was minimal, but it was pretty embarrassing..
The best thing is that it was all played out on UHF radio and the whole site heard it. The big boss knew he had to get us a carton, but the carton has still not been paid!
